The seventh FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, June 6 in Canada. The month-long event only occurs once every four years, and FOX Sports promises this year’s tournament is going to see “the most expansive and comprehensive coverage” ever. That’s good news for cord cutters as you can legally watch the Women’s World Cup online and over-the-air without cable and not miss a single second of the action!

FOX Sports has exclusive English-language broadcasting rights in the US for the Women’s World Cup. They will televise all 52 matches live between June 6 and July 5 on their family of networks — FOX, FOX Sports 1, and FOX Sports 2. All of the soccer shown on these channels is available online without a cable subscription through the FOX Soccer 2Go app. This standalone streaming service gives you complete access to live and on-demand streaming video of all FIFA Women’s World Cup coverage (plus a ton of coverage of other top soccer leagues).

How to Watch the Women’s World Cup Online on Fox Soccer 2Go

FOX Soccer 2Go is a streaming service aimed at soccer fans who have cut the cord (read my review here). Similar to MLB.TV, the service offers live and on-demand soccer matches, pre- and post-match studio coverage, and additional feeds, giving fans access to different camera views. All of this can be had at a cost of $19.99 per month or at a discounted rate of $99.99 per year (that’s a little over $8 a month). Keep in mind these subscriptions automatically renew until you cancel them.

Signing up for Fox Soccer 2Go is a fairly simple and fast process. You just choose your subscription type, enter in your billing information, and you’re good to go.

Once you’ve created your Fox Soccer 2Go account, you can watch soccer anytime, anywhere on PC, MAC, iPhone, iPad, iTouch, Android smartphones, and via AirPlay on your Apple TV. The app is very cleanly organized, making it easy to find both live matches and on-demand content. You’ll also get breaking news, video highlights, standings, schedules for upcoming games, stats, and more.

Use Your Antenna for Free Over-the-Air Women’s World Cup Coverage

Note: If you subscribe to FOX Soccer 2Go, you’ll get to watch every match online, including those broadcast over-the-air on FOX, through the app.

In addition to being able to watch the Women’s World Cup online using the FOX Soccer 2Go app, you also have the option of watching 16 matches over-the-air on your local FOX channel. That’s only a portion of the entire 52 match Women’s World Cup tournament, but if you don’t feel like springing for a Fox Soccer 2Go subscription, this is your next best option. The good news is FOX’s over-the-air network will be carrying many of the most important matches, including the Final and the Third Place Match.

It’s also worth pointing out that Telemundo will be broadcasting 10 games –all Mexican national team games, the Final, and more — in Spanish on its free over-the-air (OTA) network.

This means you can watch a lot of the Women’s World Cup with an antenna. I personally use the Mohu Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna and get excellent reception for all of these OTA channels and more.
