The Dallas Mavericks are always a fun team to watch, and in recent years they have been better than ever. Whether you’re a diehard Mavs fan or just someone who wants to be able to stream the Mavericks game every once in a while, we understand. Today, we’re here to discuss the best ways to watch the Dallas Mavericks online, without needing cable TV.
Now, here’s the question: are you ready to watch? If you’ve made the switch from cable, you’ll need an alternate plan for keeping up with your favorite team. Thankfully, you’ve come to the perfect place. In this guide, we’ll show you how to watch the Dallas Mavericks online, without cable.
Watch Dallas Mavericks Live Streaming on Sling TV
If you’ve recently cancelled cable, you should really learn about Sling TV – a streaming service that provides many of the channels you used to watch on cable, without the expensive subscription.
Sling TV (review) is offered by Dish Network, but it doesn’t require a satellite TV or cable subscription. It’s very affordable, at only $25 per month, and it doesn’t force you into a contract. You can try it for a month, 3 months, 5 years – whatever you want. Cancel at any time, with no penalty.
So, what does Sling TV give you for $25 a month? The short answer: a lot. For residents of the Southwest, Sling TV will let you watch every single Mavericks game of the season! That’s because Sling Blue subscribers will receive live access to FOX Sports Southwest, which is the FOX Sports regional network that is home to ALL Mavs games! There may be occasional blackouts, but for the most part Sling TV will let you watch the Dallas Mavericks game live stream for nearly every game of the season!
And, the fun doesn’t stop there. Sling TV gives subscribers access to over 40 quality TV networks. You can watch all the channels offered just like if you had cable. All you need is a Sling subscription and a device to stream on. Computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices all work perfectly.
The channel selection is varied enough to provide something for the whole family. Food Network, TBS, ESPN, TNT, Adult Swim, and Disney Channel are just a few of the highlights. For basketball fans, you can enjoy live NBA games every week on ESPN, ESPN2, and TNT streaming.
In terms of NBA coverage, Sling TV gives you:
- Live streaming of FOX Sports Southwest, which covers ALL Mavericks games!
- Live streaming of ESPN (hosts NBA games every Wednesday and Friday and the NBA Draft)
- Live streaming of TNT (hosts NBA games every Thursday, some Tuesdays, and lets you watch the NBA All Star Game online)
- Live streaming of ABC via the WatchESPN App (hosts NBA games every weekend)
- Live streaming of post-game analytical shows on TNT and ESPN
Do note that different channels are included in different packages. There are three basic Sling TV packages, with prices ranging from $20 to $40 a month. For Mavericks fans living in the Southwest, Sling Blue is the best option at $25 a month, but be sure to check out the various packages before you sign up.
Sling TV provides a very easy and affordable way to watch the NBA online, plus keep up with your other favorite shows on a variety of channels. Right now, if you sign up for 3 months of Sling, you can get a completely free Roku streaming device, or a steep discount on an Apple TV. Either of these channels will let you stream the Mavericks game directly on your big-screen TV!
You can also try a free 7-day trial of Sling TV to give the service a spin before committing to anything.

fuboTV Gives You The Dallas Mavericks Stream
fuboTV is a newly launched streaming service that focuses on sports. Its basic package costs $35 per month and will give you over 40 networks to watch live, including FOX Sports Regional networks. If you’re in the Dallas area, that means FOX Sports Southwest, and access to Dallas Mavericks streaming all season long. fuboTV works on the vast majority of streaming devices, computers, smartphones and more.
Other key channels include NBA TV, FS1, FS2, NBCSN, Golf Channel, and many more – although, you’ll note that ESPN is not included. In other words, this is a good option for the Mavericks game live stream if you live in the Dallas area – but if you don’t, Sling TV is a better option. See our fuboTV review to learn more.
Watch Dallas Mavericks Live Stream with Playstation Vue
Another new TV-alternative streaming service that recently came out is Playstation Vue. This service, released by Sony, is similar to Sling TV. PS Vue provides subscribers with access to live streaming of content from many popular TV networks. TNT is included in the lineup, which is significant for basketball fans, because TNT hosts NBA games every Thursday and some Tuesdays. ESPN and several other useful channels are also included. Plus, you’ll be able to watch all the other NBA games that TNT hosts, plus analytical shows like Inside the NBA. You can check the Mavericks schedule to see which games you would be able to watch using Vue.
Vue actually offers upwards of 45 channels, but in terms of NBA coverage it’s more limited than Sling TV. Vue’s plans start from $29.99 a month, so it still presents pretty good value. Read our review of the service here.
Watch Dallas Mavericks Live Stream and Replays with NBA League Pass
For NBA fans, the service that offers the most content is NBA League Pass – the NBA’s official streaming service. With League Pass, fans can follow all their favorite teams all season long, with both live streaming and on-demand replays.
League Pass has the most content, but there are two major downsides: price, and local blackouts. The full League Pass service is $199.99 per season, which is out of the price range of many fans. League Pass also blacks out local teams. This means that, if you live in Dallas, you won’t be able to watch the Dallas Mavericks online until after-the-fact.
Despite the downsides, League Pass is still a good option for many people – especially those who don’t live near their favorite teams. Here’s everything the package offers:
- Live streams of all regular season games, in full HD – up to 40 games each week
- Full HD replays available any time, on-demand, for every regular season game
- Full HD replays of NBA playoffs, on-demand
- On-demand replays of classic NBA games
- Works on phones, tablets, streaming devices, and computers
Keep in mind, the above features describe the full NBA League Pass package, priced at $199.99 per season. This package is best for people who like to follow several teams, or who just want to have access to as much NBA content as possible. Local blackouts apply.
If you’re someone who really only wants to watch the Dallas Mavericks online, you can save some money by subscribing to NBA Team Pass. At $119.99 per season, this package offers live games and on-demand content following a single team of your choice. Note: local blackouts still apply.
Lastly, if you’d just like to catch an occasional game or two throughout the season, you can purchase an NBA Single Game Pass for just $6.99. This one-time fee will let you stream a single game of your choice, live.
*ALL versions include local blackouts*
Watch NBA Games for Free with Your Antenna
Surprisingly, there’s an easy way to watch many NBA games this season, LIVE, for no cost at all! All you need is an HD antenna, and you’re good to go. Don’t have one? Check out our guide on how to choose the best antenna.
An OTA antenna will let you pick up over-the-air channels directly on your TV. In addition to local channels (which vary depending on where you live), you’ll be able to watch several national channels like Fox and ABC. The fact that ABC is an OTA channel is the most interesting for basketball fans, as ABC hosts a number of featured games throughout the regular season. See the NBA on ABC schedule to view the full lineup.
Since you’ll be watching the games on live TV, your schedule will have to allow you to tune in at the broadcast time. If that doesn’t work, there is an alternative: record the game(s) with a DVR! In our over-the-air DVR comparison guide, we go over the details of choosing the right DVR for your needs and budget.
Watch the Dallas Mavericks Online for Free with TNT Overtime
TNT Overtime is a free service from TNT, that lets NBA fans watch one or two free games each week, live, on smartphones or tablets. The Mavericks vs. Clippers game on October 29 is hosted on TNT Overtime, so you can watch that game live, for free. You’ll also be able to watch the game from multiple camera angles at once.
Game selection is limited with Overtime, but since it’s free, there’s no reason not to use it!
Watch Dallas Mavericks Online with No Blackouts using NBA League Pass International
