It will be a great event with the best players in the MLB coming together in a friendly competition. The Derby has a new and exciting format that includes several changes, including the removal of the rule of batters having a specific amount of outs each round. The hitters are rewarded with additional time for home run distance and hitting home runs in the final minute. Want to watch the Home Run Derby online?

Can You Stream the Home Run Derby for Free on MLB.com?

In some previous years, MLB.com generously offered an option to stream the Home Run Derby live for free. The stream was available in MLB.com videos section, but it has not been announced if it will be available again this year. The clear downside to the MLB free stream would be the limitation on how to watch the Home Run Derby online. The stream has to be viewed from their website and we are not sure on any device compatibility that may be provided. This could limit your ability to watch on your TV or other devices and may not be as high of a quality or user-friendly as the previously provided options.
