Watch Tyrant Online: Live Stream Guide

Don't let ridiculous cable bills keep you from watching your favorite shows. This guide will tell you all the ways you can watch Tyrant online!

Equal parts family drama and Middle Eastern political thriller, Tyrant has been a popular show since its premiere in 2014. With two seasons already under its belt and a third airing starting July 6 at 10 p.m. ET on FX, Tyrant is sure to remain at the top of the charts on FX this year. The show follows a pediatrician named Bassam Al-Fayeed, who left his Middle Eastern culture behind and goes by the name of Barry in his adopted home of Pasadena. There he is married to a fellow physician, an American, and they have two teenaged children. But, of course, drama sneaks up on the family when they travel back to the Middle East for a family wedding and they are drawn back into the world Al-Fayeed left behind.

If you don’t have cable, or you’re thinking of cutting that cord, and you want to watch Tyrant online, how is that possible? Here’s the good news for fans.

Watch Tyrant Live Stream on Sling TV

Best Choice
$25 - $40
26 - 58

Our single favorite cable replacement solution continues to be Sling TV (review). We feel that the benefits, the price, and the accessibility can’t be beat. FX is offered in one of Sling TV’s basic packages of channels which costs only $20 per month with no contract. This means you can cancel at any time if for some reason you don’t like the service. Along with the ability to watch Tyrant online with FX, and their other favorites like American Horror Story and The Americans, you get a ton of other networks too. They include:

  • FS1
  • National Geographic
  • AMC
  • TNT
  • TBS

And so much more. Plus, there are a variety of add-on packages that can enhance your experience with more sports or news or whatever else you want to focus on. Even with the added content, Sling TV is still affordable. Sling TV will stream on or with just about any device, so the transition is easy.

If you don’t want to take our word for it, try it out free for 7 days so you can at least watch Tyrant online free for a week. Or, if you’re ready to take the leap, sign up for three months and qualify for a free Roku 2 or half-off a Roku 3. It’s been said that the Roku 2 works just as well as the Roku 3, and with the Roku 2 clocking in at $70 retail, paying the $60 for three months of Sling and a Roku 2 is a fantastic deal!

Watch Tyrant Online with Hulu

$39.99 - $43.99

If live TV isn’t the biggest concern for you, Hulu (review) is another great way to keep up with tons of television content and movie without staying connected through expensive cable bills. Hulu is one of the most popular streaming services in the US for good reason.

Hulu is usually the first of the subscription streaming services to get FX shows. It already has a selection of past Tyrant full episodes and we expect that they will continue to air more in the future as content is available. But the library doesn’t end there. In fact, one of the reasons Hulu has been so successful is because of the accessibility of broadcast network shows, which even most live streaming services don’t offer. You can watch your ABC, NBC, and FOX favorites usually the day after they air.

Hulu is only $7.99 per month, which is a great deal. However, this does include some limited commercials which can become repetitive and frustrating if you watch the service a lot. However, for only $11.99 a month, you can cut out commercials and cable all in one swoop. To watch Tyrant online free, try a free 7-day trial to find out if it is right for you.

Watch Tyrant Streaming on PlayStation Vue

Also Great
$44.99 - $79.99
47 - 72

Another live streaming service that is making news lately is Sony’s PlayStation Vue. This subscription service offers live access to dozens of pay TV networks, including FX. You can watch Tyrant streaming live right when it airs on FX, which is included in all of their packages starting at $29.99 per month.

When Vue first launched, it was only available in seven cities, and what set it apart from its competition was access to the live local channels NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX. It recently expanded nationwide and unfortunately, the local live streaming feature didn’t follow it. Live streaming of these networks is only available in the original cities, but fans can still watch NBC, ABC, and FOX on-demand the next day.

PlayStation Vue is only accessible on PS3 and PS4 consoles, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and iPad. Users need to know that there are significant mobile restrictions with Vue’s content. You are tied to your home network with the exception of the iPad and iPhone app, but even these still have limited access.

Buy Tyrant Episodes Online

While there may not be a legal way to watch Tyrant online free for more than a 7-day trial, you can own all of the episodes for yourself and watch them over and over again. There are several instant video services that offer Tyrant full episodes the day after they air on FX.

Overall, this turns out to be a more expensive solution than one of the subscription services, at $2 to $3 per episode, but you can save a little money by purchasing a discounted season pass. You can even buy the latest season before it airs and new episodes will be available the next day. Try Amazon, Vudu, iTunes, or other similar services.
