A&E’s new ambitious docuseries will give viewers an unprecedented look from the inside at the country’s jail system. 60 Days In premiers on the network on March 10 at 9 p.m. ET. The series follows 7 individuals who volunteered to enter Indiana’s Clark County Jail without informing the inmates, officers, or staff that they were actually innocent people.
The participating volunteers understood the implications of what they’re doing and willingly subjected themselves to the same treatment as their fellow inmates in the jail. The experiment was devised by the current Sheriff to expose injustices in the system that results from previous years of corruption.
By allowing A&E to follow and film the new inmates, the Sheriff was able to expose issues and create a plan of action for improvements within the system. How often can reality TV say that about itself?
